Dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev

On 22 December 2020, in the Chamber Hall of the Astana Opera House, the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan will hold a concert in memory of the People's Artist of the USSR and the Kazakh SSR, laureate of the State Prize, Hero of Labour of Kazakhstan, Professor Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev.

 

Ye. Rakhmadiyev – Kazakh composer, teacher, public and state figure. He was the head of the State Conservatory for eight years, permanent chairman of the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan, the Secretary of the Union of Composers of the USSR and the Minister of Culture of the republic for 27 years. He is the author of six operas, including Kamar-sulu (1963), Alpamys (1972), Abylai Khan (1999), numerous works – orchestral, vocal and choral, theatre and stage, chamber and instrumental, as well as songs and romances. For his outstanding achievements in the development of musical art, Ye. Rakhmadiyev was named the Person of the Year in 2005.

The evening will feature chamber and vocal pieces by Ye. Rakhmadiyev, renowned Kazakhstani composers (K. Duisekeyev, B. Kydyrbek), including the students of the outstanding master (S. Yerkimbekov, S. Tuyakov, S. and A. Abdinurov), as well as young authors – A. Zhanbayev, A. Kadyrov, A. Tani, L. Zhumanov and others.

Opera soloists, artists of the Astana Opera Orchestra, and other performers take part in the concert.
