Dedication to Idols

(E. Serkebayev, M. Magomayev)

THE CONCERT IS HELD IN KAZAKH AND RUSSIAN

The recital from the repertoire of two idols of the twentieth century – Ermek Serkebayev and Muslim Magomayev, will be presented by the soloist of the Astana Opera, winner of the State Youth Prize “Daryn”, baritone Rasul Zharmagambetov – a singer endowed with a powerful and beautiful baritone voice and stage charisma.

Millions of fans referred to the Kazakhstani opera singer Ermek Serkebayev as the “King of Baritones”, while another baritone, also an idol of millions, Muslim Magomayev, called him the “best Figaro of the Soviet Union”.

Ermek Serkebayev possessed a rare gift – practically every estrada song he performed (and he remarkably harmoniously combined opera singing and estrada music) he elevated to the level of classics.

The soft velvety timbre of Muslim Magomayev is instantly recognisable. His songs, deeply embraced by a broad audience, elicit nostalgic emotions and intense sentiments even now. Revered as the “Soviet Frank Sinatra”, he shone as a star and an idol for generations during the latter half of the previous century.

The concert also features Honoured Workers of Kazakhstan Saltanat Akhmetova (soprano) and Meir Bainesh (tenor).
