(Dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Rysbay Gabdiyev)

A tribute to the virtuoso dombra player, conductor and teacher, People's Artist of Kazakhstan, Holder of the Order of “Parasat” Rysbay Gabdiyev will be the concert “Kos Ishektin Kuaty” (The Power of Two Strings) dedicated to his 85th anniversary.

 

The bright creative life of the dombra player, the son of the steppe, was inseparable from the life of his people. He was praised by throughout Kazakhstan and applauded by in Turkey, France, Russia and distant Qatar. Having started his performing career at a young age, he became the conductor and artistic director of the folk instruments orchestra, a professor who brought up a bright galaxy of students and followers. He actively combined his creative activity with teaching at the Atyrau Pedagogical Institute, where he published many books on the methods of teaching dombra playing.

The basis of Rysbay Gabdiyev's repertoire comprises the kuis of Kazakh folk composers (Kurmangazy, Dina, Dauletkerei, Abyl), which he recorded on gramophone records.

Renowned Kazakhstani musicians – colleagues, students and followers of the brilliant maestro will take part in the tribute concert.
